Stroke Support Groups
A stroke support group is a community
organization for stroke survivors and their
family members, friends and others. It helps
people learn more about stroke, share their
experiences about stroke, and become inspired
to move forward after their stroke.
A stroke can be very isolating. By meeting
regularly, members help one another face and
overcome common challenges by sharing
experiences and encouraging one another.
A stroke support group can be a place for
stroke survivors and caregivers to make
friends, socialize, gain realistic feedback,
help others and find meaning in life.
The American
Stroke Association maintains a registry of
about 1,900 stroke groups. To find
out if there's a stroke support group near
you, visit
our group locator.
For information about stroke support
groups or how to start one, call 1-888-4-STROKE

which indexes and ranks international
medical news. It spans general interest
articles to basic research. Dissect
Medicine users submit news items for
review with tags and keywords. These are
then ranked by the user group. This
ensures that only the most relevant, and
influential articles will make it as a
current headline story. Head over to the
help
section to read more about what you
